Controversy Surrounds Engineer Agha Waqar’s Water Kit Invention in Pakistan

Engineer Agha Waqar’s invention claimed to easily separate the components of water – oxygen and hydrogen atoms – and utilize energy with minimal consumption. He first informed a federal minister in Sindh about his project, which led to its discussion in the federal cabinet and the formation of a subcommittee for further deliberation.

The Minister for Science and Technology in Pakistan, Mir Changiz Khan Jamali, who had witnessed Agha Waqar’s water kit demonstration, hailed the concept as a revolutionary effort, stating that it would play a crucial role in addressing the country’s energy crisis.

The media frenzy surrounding the “water kit” prompted several prominent TV anchors, such as Hamid Mir , Talat Hussain , and Iqrar ul Hassan , to feature the invention on their programs. Agha Waqar demonstrated the kit’s functionality by driving cars belonging to these anchors without petrol but using distilled water instead, leaving them astonished.

The enthusiasm for the “water kit” spread rapidly, gaining endorsements from various scientific institutions and personalities in Pakistan, including Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program. However, some renowned scientists dismissed the project, labeling it scientifically unfounded.

After a few weeks, media coverage of Agha Waqar abruptly ceased, and he disappeared from the limelight. Neither mainstream nor social media platforms featured any posts or videos from him.

However, recent advancements in environmental technology, such as Toyota’s development of hydrogen-powered cars, indicate that Agha Waqar’s concept may not have been entirely fraudulent. Companies like Toyota, along with Elon Musk’s Tesla, which are leading the charge in environmentally friendly vehicles, could potentially disrupt the businesses of those promoting traditional fuel sources.
