Comedians in Pakistan have experienced various phases in their careers. At one point, theatre plays thrived, featuring performances by notable figures like Sohail Ahmed, Waseem Abbas, and others who continue to be prominent today.
These comedians entertained audiences on stage during the peak of theatrical productions. However, as the prominence of theatre declined in Pakistan, many comedians transitioned to television, navigating through different stages in their comedic journeys.
Rubi Anam stands out as a seasoned artist renowned for her beauty, sense of humor, and talent in Pakistan. She consistently graces various shows and has also ventured into the world of film. Presently, numerous programs such as Khabarnak, Hasb e Haal, and Mazaaq Raat provide a platform for comedians to display their immense talent.
Rubi Anam discussed the income potential for comedians in Pakistan. Grateful to Aftab Iqbal for introducing comedians to television, she shared that in the initial stages, these artists earned around 35,000 PKR. Over time, as they established themselves as brands, many junior artists are now earning up to 12 lakh rupees, while established stars command over 25 lakh for their work.
