A Chinese businessman has converted to Islam in Afghanistan by reciting the Kalma Tayyiba.
According to Afghanistan’s state news agency, the event took place in Mazar-i-Sharif, a city in Balkh province, where the trader embraced Islam in the presence of the provincial leader of the Afghan Taliban.
Haji Zaid, the spokesperson for the Balkh provincial government, confirmed to the news agency that the trader’s original name was Wang Fiqi. Upon accepting Islam, he was given the name Abdullah Muhammad.
The spokesperson further elaborated that Abdullah Muhammad has collaborated with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the construction of several factories. His conversion to Islam occurred during a ceremony organized at the provincial office in Balkh, where he publicly recited the Kalma Tayyiba and formally entered the fold of Islam.
