He worked 18 hours a day under constant abuse. Torture, electric shocks, and mental pressure were routine. Two young men in his company even committed suicide because they could not bear the pain.

When he tried to return, the local agent demanded $3500 as ransom. Only after his family collected money was he released. He came back broken and traumatized.
