Former West Indies skipper, Brian Lara, recently shared his thoughts on the emerging cricket sensation, Shubman Gill, forecasting that Gill has the potential to surpass even Lara’s own impressive records.
In a recent interview, Brian Lara highlighted Shubman Gill’s remarkable talent, affirming that the young player possesses the skills to break Lara’s first-class cricket records of 400 not-out and 501 not-out runs. Lara expressed his belief, stating, “Shubman Gill is the standout talent of the new generation. I am confident he can surpass my records of 400 and 501 not-out.”

Lauding Gill’s batting style, Lara commended the young cricketer’s impressive approach. Lara anticipates that Shubman Gill will assert his dominance in the cricketing world in the years to come, foreseeing multiple records in Gill’s future.
It’s worth noting that Brian Lara currently holds the first-class cricket record with an unbeaten score of 501 runs, in addition to the international Test record for scoring 400 runs against England.
On the other hand, Shubman Gill has etched his name in cricket history by becoming the youngest Indian cricketer to score centuries in all three formats. Furthermore, he holds the record for being the youngest player to achieve a double century in one-day internationals.
