According to the Fujairah Media Office, emergency response teams from Civil Defense rushed to the site and worked to contain the blaze. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.
The attack struck the strategic Fujairah oil trading and bunkering hub along the Gulf of Oman, one of the region’s most important energy facilities located outside the Strait of Hormuz. The terminal plays a crucial role in global energy logistics, serving as a major storage and refueling center for oil tankers transporting crude and petroleum products across international markets.
Sources cited by Reuters said that some oil-loading operations were temporarily halted after the strike as authorities assessed the extent of the damage and secured the area.
The latest incident follows a separate drone-related fire reported in Fujairah over the weekend, raising fresh concerns about the safety of critical energy infrastructure in the Gulf.
The attack comes amid heightened regional tensions following U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran in late February. Tehran has since faced accusations of retaliatory actions against vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most vital energy chokepoints.
Shipping traffic through the corridor has reportedly slowed in recent days due to mounting security concerns, fueling fears of potential disruptions to global oil supply and maritime trade if the conflict continues to escalate.
