Quetta (Media Bites) — A sad incident of honour killing has emerged from Dera Bugti, Balochistan, where a couple who had married for love a year and a half ago was allegedly murdered by members of their own tribe.
According to media reports, 24-year-old Sheetal and 32-year-old Zarak were invited by their tribe under the pretext of a feast. However, the gathering turned out to be a trap, not for a meal, but for what the perpetrators called an “honour” punishment.

Some eyewitnesses state that the couple was taken to a barren field where 19 tribesmen were already present, five of them with guns. Sheetal, wrapped in a large shawl and holding a copy of the Holy Quran, calmly stepped forward. She reportedly said in Balochi language, “Only permission to shoot ,nothing else.”
Sources claim that Sheetal was shot nine times. Zarak was then brought forward and shot eighteen times.
The brutal killing has sparked fear and outrage across the country, and the incident has ignited strong reactions on social media. However, no arrests have been reported so far.
