Asia One, a sister-concern of 365 News led by Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon, faces a deepening salary crisis as employees report unpaid wages for two consecutive months and rising internal uncertainty.

Asia One, the English-language news channel launched in Karachi in July, is already grappling with a severe financial crisis, leaving employees unpaid for the second month in a row. The channel, operating from the Bol News building in the Korangi Industrial Area, has been unable to clear salaries for October, with staff told they “may” receive payments on November 25 or 26 — a promise many doubt will be fulfilled.
Employees say the issue goes beyond one month. Several staff members claim they never received their September salaries, with reports suggesting that only 11 employees were paid for that month.
When management insisted that all September salaries were cleared, staff pushed back, asking the administration to “show proof” if payments were indeed made beyond those 11 people.
Others who did receive their September pay say it came significantly late, adding to growing concern about the channel’s internal management and financial stability.
A more troubling revelation has also surfaced: despite being operational for four months, Asia One has not issued a single appointment letter to any journalist or media worker. Employees say the absence of formal employment documentation has deepened their insecurity and raised serious questions about the channel’s professionalism and long-term planning.
Asia One management, however, maintains a different stance. Speaking to a digital platform, an official claimed that “80% of employees have already received their October salaries.” When asked about those still unpaid, the official responded by requesting the names of affected staff and added, “Do whatever you think is better,” a remark employees describe as dismissive and unhelpful.
Workers say the administration is not addressing their concerns, creating a climate of frustration and uncertainty. With delayed payments, lack of transparency, and no appointment letters, many employees fear the channel’s future is increasingly unstable.
