Apple Watch Users Could Get Compensation—Here’s What You Need to Know
Apple has agreed to settle a lawsuit related to defective Apple Watch screens, potentially compensating thousands of users worldwide. The lawsuit alleges that certain Apple Watch models had screens that detached, cracked, or shattered without user fault.
Which Apple Watch Models Are Included?
If you own one of the following models, you could be eligible for compensation:
- Apple Watch Series 6 (Certain models)
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch SE (1st Gen)
- Apple Watch Series 4 & 3 (Reported cases included in the lawsuit)
Eligible customers will receive compensation ranging from $20 to $50, depending on the number of claims filed. To qualify, you must have reported battery swelling issues to Apple between April 24, 2015, and February 6, 2024. Affected customers will be notified via email or postcard and must confirm their claims by April 10, 2025, through the official settlement website.
If you think you qualify, make sure to submit your claim before the deadline to receive your compensation.
Global & Pakistan Sales Impact
Despite legal issues, Apple Watch sales remain strong globally, with millions of units sold in 2024. However, in Pakistan, Apple Watch sales face hurdles due to high import taxes and limited official retail availability. Many Pakistani users rely on parallel imports, making warranty claims more challenging.
Apple is expected to release details soon about compensation eligibility and claims. If you own an affected model, keep an eye on Apple’s official announcements to see if you qualify for a payout.
