Former Chakwal Naib Tehsildar Najaf Hameed Khan, who is also the brother of former DG ISI General (Rtd) Faiz Hameed is facing impending action from anti-corruption authorities.
Allegations of financial impropriety related to land transfer fees have been leveled against him during his tenure in Chakwal. The anti-corruption department has initiated a thorough investigation into these allegations.
According to the private TV channel, important evidence points towards irregularities amounting to hundreds of millions of rupees associated with brother of Faiz Najaf Hameed in Chakwal. The investigation has also unearthed indications of misappropriation concerning excise duty, registry fees, and withholding tax deductions.
Revelations of discrepancies in land transfer fees within the land record centers of five mauzas in Chakwal have emerged. Notably, an audit encompassing all land transfer fees in nine mauzas of Chakwal is now underway, as confirmed by anti-corruption insiders. The scope of this probe extends to scrutinizing all land transfers that occurred between June 2021 and February 2023.
During preliminary assessments, it has been discovered that the records lack fee challans for over 60 land transfers. The investigation has further revealed that five patwaris contributed Rs2 million from the allegedly embezzled land transfer fees.
Najaf Hameed, who previously held the position of Naib Tehsildar in Chakwal, faced removal from his role in February of this year. As the anti-corruption authorities intensify their efforts, Najaf Hameed finds himself at the center of a complex investigation into financial irregularities linked to land transactions.
