Amir Jahangir, a prominent leader in sustainable development and strategic communication, has been appointed as a Council Member at the World Agriculture Forum. Jahangir’s extensive professional experience spans various fields, making him a valuable addition to the Forum, a global platform focused on sustainable agricultural development and collaboration.
In addition to his new role, Jahangir currently serves as the CEO of Mishal Private Limited, a company he has led since 2010. Under his leadership, Mishal has been pivotal in designing communication strategies for organizations across the region. Jahangir also serves as a Senior Expert with UNESCO’s Inclusive Policy Lab (since July 2024), an Adjunct Professor at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, and the Founder and Board Member of the Asia Institute of Public Policy, furthering his influence in strategic communications, policy development, and education.
Over the years, Jahangir has held diverse roles that have equipped him with a global perspective. He was the Founding Curator for the Global Shapers Community in Islamabad, a member of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy Committee under Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom, and Country Chair of Global Dignity until May 2024. He co-founded Rinstra Technologies, Pakistan’s first user-generated content platform, and led DBTV.Live, the country’s first digital media channel. His leadership roles also include serving as CEO of SAMAA TV, Pakistan’s first private satellite news channel with live transmissions across major cities.
Jahangir’s expertise also includes his work as a Senior Consultant for organizations such as the BBC World Service Trust, UNICEF, USAID, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, where he advised on communication and health reporting initiatives. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA) in London, underscoring his commitment to cultural and social advancement.
At the World Agriculture Forum, Jahangir will help shape the Forum’s mission of global advocacy, innovation, and impactful action. His role will focus on addressing challenges like climate change, promoting agricultural trade, and empowering farmers through strategic partnerships, contributing to the Forum’s efforts in driving high-tech, sustainable transformation in global agriculture.
