LAHORE — Under a bright Lahore afternoon, I reached the historic Faletti’s Hotel to cover a key media briefing announcing Alibaba.com’s new logistics partnership with UPS Pakistan. The Alibaba team arrived sharply on time, while media representatives — as usual — filtered in gradually. The session opened with crisp presentations by Berry Ma, Imran Iqbal Bajwa, and Summer Gao, followed by Lingshan Lu’s formal welcome.
During the Q&A, the Alibaba team confidently addressed why UPS was selected over other global logistics brands. “UPS brings unmatched global reach, reliability and pricing that can truly empower Pakistani exporters,” said Berry Ma, Head of Pakistan Business at Alibaba.com. The team also shared the impressive success story of Sialkot-based exporter Imran Iqbal Bajwa, whose annual orders hit USD 500,000 on Alibaba.com.
When asked about any plans to financially support sellers during Pakistan’s economic challenges, the team was clear: there are no such plans.
The partnership aims to resolve long-standing logistical bottlenecks for Pakistani SMEs — high shipping costs, slow delivery and limited tracking. Exporters will now benefit from 2–4 day deliveries to the U.S. and 2–3 day deliveries to Europe, supported by real-time tracking through Alibaba.com’s TrackSmart system integrated with UPS’s global network.
“A major boost for Pakistani exporters as Alibaba.com partners with UPS Pakistan to offer faster, cost-effective global logistics, improved tracking, and reliable delivery solutions designed to help SMEs expand into international markets.” said Summer Gao, Head of Global Supply Chain Services at Alibaba.com.

Pakistani exporters are already seeing results. Highlighting the impact, Imran Iqbal Bawa noted, “This collaboration gives our sellers predictable costs, faster deliveries, and the trust international buyers demand. It’s a major step forward for Pakistan’s export community.”
With a 50% rise in new Pakistani suppliers and a 150% jump in monthly order volumes this year, Alibaba.com says this alliance will further accelerate Pakistan’s digital export growth and strengthen its global footprint.
