In a recent development, the well-known Pakistani real estate developer, Al Kabir Developers, has acquired the News One and Waseb channels.
It appears that owning a news channel has become a necessity for real estate companies to effectively manage their affairs within the real estate sector.
Initially, there were reports suggesting that Chaudhry Aurangzeb of Al Kabir Town intended to purchase all three channels, including TV One, News One, and Waseb, which were owned by advertising magnate Taher A Khan. However, it has now been confirmed that TV One will remain under the ownership of the Interflow group.
According to reports from Karachi, Omar Ahmed has been selected as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will soon assume his responsibilities in Lahore.
Al-Kabir Developers has rapidly gained prominence since 2016, evolving from single buildings to the development of housing and community design. They are especially known for their successful introduction of the 3-marla housing scheme.
Thus far, they have successfully delivered nearly all the projects they have launched, thanks to the leadership of their Chairman, Chaudhry Aurangzeb.
News One is a Pakistani Urdu-language TV channel, based in Karachi. It launched on 27 November 2007 and is owned by Air Waves Media Ltd, a subsidiary of the Interflow Group which also owns TV One, Waseb TV, and FM91.
MediaBites extends its best wishes to Chaudhry Aurangzeb, Omar Ahmed, and their team as they embark on the challenging journey of elevating News One to the status of a premier news channel.
