Today’s Airblue flight from Islamabad to Skardu faced extreme difficulties due to bad weather. The flight was scheduled to depart at 8:45 AM but was delayed until 12:40 PM. Passengers boarded the plane on time, but were informed that it was raining in Skardu, so they would have to wait.
About half an hour later, the crew announced that while the rain had stopped in Skardu, the route was still affected by bad weather. Finally, at 2:25 PM, the plane took off. The captain announced that they would land in Skardu at 3:10 and would pass over Nanga Parbat at 2:52.
But as the plane approached Nanga Parbat, it was caught in a severe storm. The turbulence was intense—strong jolts shook the aircraft repeatedly. From the windows, passengers could see thick clouds surrounding the mountains. For about ten minutes, the plane was violently shaking. Many passengers were silently praying, and the atmosphere in the cabin was tense and fearful.
At 3:06 PM, the plane attempted to land, but just 2,000 feet above ground, the pilot pulled up again due to strong winds and poor visibility. After a second failed attempt, the pilot warned passengers they might return to Islamabad
He circled the Skardu valley for almost 50 minutes, trying to find a safe window to land. On the third attempt, the plane slowly descended, battling strong winds blowing between the mountains. Finally, the aircraft touched the runway, and the entire cabin erupted in applause.
This was a truly terrifying yet unforgettable flight experience for everyone onboard.

This is exactly why i avoid Air Blue to Skardu. PIA allmost always does a U TURN in bad weather but pvt airlines cant afford ro waste fuel hence keep attempting to Land.
