Afghan chef allegedly robbed and harassed by Karachi police

In Karachi’s New Town area, within the jurisdiction of the police station PIB , two police officers allegedly robbed and mistreated a foreign chef in a shocking incident. The victim, Khyber Masood, a social media star chef, claimed that the police officers not only forcibly took money from him but also subjected him to physical assault.

Taking swift notice of the incident, SSP East suspended both officers involved. According to SSP East, initial investigations confirm that money was forcibly taken from the foreign chef, and this has been substantiated through preliminary inquiry.

The SHO of PIB identified and detained the two officers involved. To ensure that all legal procedures are strictly followed, the SHO has been directed to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter.

For further oversight, SP Gulshan-e-Iqbal has also been instructed to monitor the progress of the case to ensure comprehensive investigation.

Khyber Masood’s wife stated that her husband is of Afghan origin, which the police officers used as an excuse to intimidate him. She added that she herself is a Pakistani citizen and has been married to Khyber Masood for twenty-two years.

Khyber Masood, who also has a significant following on social media, expressed hope that justice will be served, and effective steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
