Renowned British songwriter Adele has surprised her fans by sharing her battle with severe caffeine withdrawal symptoms, which included shakes and migraines.
During her performance in Las Vegas, the 35-year-old singer openly acknowledged feeling a similarity between adrenaline and caffeine. She mentioned that after quitting coffee, she experienced an improvement in her stage performance.
Adele expressed that giving up caffeine was even more challenging than quitting smoking. The Sun reported her words to fans, “I decided this week to stop drinking coffee, and I have had a migraine all f***ing day.”
Describing her ordeal, she said, “It felt like someone was drilling my head. My head was pounding, and I had a splitting headache for two days just because I was trying to cut off my caffeine addiction.”
Adele admitted finding these symptoms more challenging than her previous attempt to quit drinking.
Determined not to give in, Adele disclosed her trick of drinking about 25 decaf coffees to trick her brain into thinking she was having regular coffee.
She concluded by humorously reassuring the audience, “If you notice me experiencing shakes, there’s no need to worry or be concerned. I’m addressing it with sugar, and it’s bringing me a nice sense of relief.”
Back in 2011, Adele had successfully quit smoking to improve her health after experiencing complete loss of her voice.
