Lahore’s famous actress and dancer, Nargis, has filed a domestic abuse and property coercion case against her husband, Inspector Majid Bashir. According to the FIR registered at Lahore’s Defence C police station, Nargis alleges that her husband not only physically assaulted her but also pressured her to transfer properties, including a farmhouse, into his name.
Nargis further claims that her husband, Majid Bashir, is involved with Maryam Ali Hussain, who is the ex-wife of prominent journalist Aftab Iqbal. She asserts that Majid intends to marry Maryam Ali Hussain and bring her to live at his farmhouse, which has fueled conflict between Nargis and her husband and led her to take legal action.
According to Nargis, the incident took place early one morning while she was performing her morning prayers and Quran recitation. Suddenly, Majid allegedly attacked her, threatening her life, hitting her with a pistol butt, and attempting to injure her jaw. She states that her nephew and household staff were present and witnessed the attack.
Nargis is firm in her stance that this issue will not be resolved through reconciliation.
