A routine traffic stop on a motorway reportedly turned into a dramatic standoff after a well-known Pakistani TV anchor allegedly refused to pay a Rs5,000 challan and instead argued with motorway police, claiming his influence reached the country’s top leadership.
According to reports circulating on social media, the incident involved prominent anchor Mansoor Ali Khan, who was stopped by National Highways and Motorway Police officers for a traffic violation.
Police officials reportedly issued a Rs5,000 challan, but the situation escalated when the anchor allegedly confronted the officers and refused to accept the fine.
During the exchange, he reportedly told the officers that even the President, Prime Minister, and Chief of the Army Staff listen to him — and that they should do the same.
Sources claim the tense exchange continued until the time for iftar approached during Ramadan. Despite the disagreement, motorway police personnel reportedly offered food items to the anchor from their own supplies.
However, according to the account being shared online, the anchor eventually left the scene without paying the challan.
The incident has triggered debate on social media, with users discussing issues of accountability, conduct, and whether public figures should be held to the same rules as ordinary citizens.
Motorway police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the alleged incident.
