In an interview with The National ahead of her appearance at the Sharjah International Book Fair, Karena Kapoor acknowledged the profound influence of written words on her creative imagination, surpassing the impact of film and television.
Kapoor articulated her belief in the power of reading and writing, emphasizing how they provide a solitary yet enriching experience, allowing one to explore the depths of their thoughts and transcend into diverse realms of visualization. She deemed writing as an art form, acknowledging its inherent challenges.
At the age of 43, Kapoor’s words carry the weight of experience, as she has authored two books over the past decade. Her first venture was the 2013 self-help book “The Style Diary of A Bollywood Diva,” where she imparted tips on fashion choices for various occasions and perfecting the art of striking a camera pose. She described this endeavor as a fun exploration of her interests, such as fashion and personal style.

In 2021, Kapoor delved deeper into the literary realm by co-writing “Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible.” This book offered insights from her pregnancy journey and practical guidance on preparing for hospital visits and creating an ideal home nursery. During her appearance at the book fair, she discussed the inspiration behind this work, emphasizing her desire to offer an honest account of motherhood, informed by her experiences as a mother for the second time.
Kapoor’s journey into motherhood has also reshaped her perception of beauty. She emphasized the relative nature of beauty and how it is a deeply personal and emotional experience. Her children, Taimur and Jeh, have a profound impact on her sense of beauty, as their morning kisses provide a unique affirmation of her own beauty.
Kapoor also expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support of her global fanbase. Acknowledging the need for validation that all actors, including herself, crave, she compared actors to plants that require nurturing to thrive. The love and nurturing from fans and directors are essential for an actor’s growth, a sentiment she shared with her peers in the industry.
