Google Pixel 8 series is set to launch exciting new features that promise to bring it closer to providing a DSLR-level photography experience.
Pixel 8’s leaked images shared by Kamila Wojciechowska offer a sneak peek at a new “Pro” mode integrated into the Google Camera UI for the Pixel 8 Pro.
This fresh user interface can be accessed by swiping up on a small white bar located just below the shutter button. Within this new menu, users will have the ability to manually control parameters like ISO sensitivity, shutter speed, and focus.
These features have long been accessible through GCam-modded apps, but they are now making their official debut in the native app. When a parameter is selected, a translucent slider may appear for fine-tuning adjustments, accompanied by a reset button to return it to its default setting.
The Pixel 8 series is also set to incorporate a new AI-powered feature into its photography arsenal. Known as the “Magic Editor,” this feature will be available on select Pixel phones and aims to enhance the Magic Eraser experience.
It grants users the capability to blend the most favorable elements from different frames into a single image. Additionally, it enables users to reposition subjects within the photo frame and even alter the time of day by replacing a mid-day sky with a picturesque sunset.
Google is reportedly making significant upgrades to the camera department. For the first time in any Google device, the Pixel 8 Pro will feature an autofocus front camera, a 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera with autofocus. This should result in enhanced consistency between lenses when capturing photos or shooting videos.
The leaked specification sheet reveals a plethora of exciting new features arriving with the Pixel series. One noteworthy addition is the “Audio Eraser,” an AI feature capable of isolating background noises from the main subject in videos.
