Flooding in local nullahs
The PMD has issued a warning of possible flooding in local nullahs and streams in Kashmir, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and GB from August 4 to August 7. There is a potential risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore due to heavy rains. Furthermore, landslides are likely in vulnerable areas of Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, GB, and KP.
Given the weather forecast, the Met office advises travelers and tourists to exercise caution during the mentioned period.
On the other hand, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in a report released today, said two people had died in rain-related incidents in KP in the last 24 hours while over 200 houses were damaged in heavy showers.
