The Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) has appointed Rizwan Haider as its Authority Secretary, bringing on board one of Pakistan’s most experienced digital governance professionals.
Rizwan joins from NADRA Technologies Ltd. (NTL), where he served as Company Secretary, overseeing corporate governance, regulatory and board affairs, and statutory compliance.
His career at NADRA spans decades and milestones. He was part of the pioneering team that introduced Smart Card technology and machine-readable documents to Pakistan, and he subsequently carried the country’s identity and registration expertise to international civil-registration and identity projects, including Bangladesh’s Driving License Project under BRTA, and engagements in Saudi Arabia and Kenya.
Within NADRA, Rizwan led Verification and Operations for the Islamabad region, where his teams became the best-performing in the country. Process improvements under his leadership cut citizen wait times by more than 20 percent — a measurable, on-the-ground impact at national scale.
Beyond the public sector, Rizwan has served as Chief Marketing Officer at Expert Systems (Pvt) Ltd and as Business Development Manager at InfoTech Group, delivering e-governance solutions for government clients. Earlier in his career, he served at Fauji Foundation as Manager Finance and Accounts, where he built a new department from the ground up and led the Foundation’s financial role in a Build-Operate-Transfer project later acquired by NADRA.
He also represented NTL as the lead presenter in the organization’s first multiple competitive wins at the Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) Awards 2025.
PDA noted that Rizwan arrives having helped build the identity layer that Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) now rests on, bringing the governance discipline and institutional experience a growing digital authority requires.
“Welcome aboard, Rizwan. The foundation we’re building for a digital nation is stronger for your joining it,” PDA said in its announcement.
MediaBites.com.pk congratulates Rizwan Haider on this well-deserved appointment and wishes him the very best in his new role at Pakistan Digital Authority.
