Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s youngest daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, has married Azan Jabbar in a family ceremony attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and senior political figures.
LAHORE, Sept. 12, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar solemnised her nikah with Azan Jabbar, son of businessman Jabbar Khalid, at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence in Lahore on Saturday.
The ceremony was held in a private family setting, with close relatives and invited guests attending the occasion.
Former prime minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif was among those present, alongside his sons Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and other notable personalities also attended the ceremony.
The wedding marks a significant family occasion for Maryam Nawaz and her husband, Captain Muhammad Safdar, as their youngest daughter begins a new chapter of her life.
Mahnoor is the youngest of the couple’s three children. She recently graduated in Anthropology from SOAS University of London, where she studied from 2023 to 2026.
Maryam Nawaz travelled to London earlier this month to attend her daughter’s graduation ceremony. At the time, the Punjab chief minister described the occasion as a moment of immense pride and happiness for the family.
Speaking to Geo News during the visit, Maryam said there was no greater source of pride for parents than seeing their children complete their education. She noted that all three of her children had now completed their higher studies.
Mahnoor’s marriage to Azan Jabbar comes months after another high-profile wedding within the family. Her brother, Junaid Safdar, married Shanzeh Ali Rohale in January, with celebrations spanning several days at various venues, including the Sharif family’s Jati Umra estate.
The latest ceremony was comparatively centered on family and close guests, with senior members of the Sharif family and prominent political figures joining the celebrations.
Jati Umra has frequently served as the venue for major family gatherings and political occasions involving the Sharif family.
Mahnoor’s wedding has also attracted considerable public interest because of her family’s prominent political background. Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of Nawaz Sharif, became Punjab’s first woman chief minister and remains one of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s most prominent political figures.
The ceremony comes as the Sharif family continues to balance its prominent political role with major family milestones, including Mahnoor’s graduation and marriage, both of which have drawn attention in Pakistan and among the family’s supporters abroad.
