A client’s account of allegedly damaged hair and rude treatment at Shagufta Ejaz’s Karachi salon has sparked criticism online, with social media users questioning the service.
KARACHI, Sept. 4, 2026 — Pakistani actress and entrepreneur Shagufta Ejaz is facing criticism online after a client publicly complained about her experience at the actress’s salon, alleging that a hair-coloring treatment left her hair badly damaged and that staff treated her rudely.
Ejaz, who began her acting career during the Pakistan Television era, has remained active in the entertainment industry while also expanding into business and YouTube. She owns Envy Salon in Karachi, a venture that she and her daughters have frequently promoted.
According to a complaint shared in the Voice of Customer Facebook Group, a client visited the salon for a hair-coloring service but was unhappy with the result. The client alleged that her hair was left severely damaged and said she was disappointed with how the situation was handled.
The complaint also alleged that the salon staff were rude during the interaction and failed to adequately address her concerns. The client said the experience left her dissatisfied with both the service and the response she received afterward.
The allegations have since attracted attention on social media, where some users shared their own criticism of the salon while others commented on the standards of celebrity-owned businesses.
One commenter described the situation with the phrase, “oonchi dukan, pheeka pakwan,” while another claimed they had experienced similar treatment and alleged that responsibility had been placed on them. A third commenter broadly criticized celebrity-run businesses.
The online reaction has added pressure to the controversy, although the allegations stem from the client’s account and social media comments rather than an independently established finding of wrongdoing.
The incident has also raised broader questions about customer service at celebrity-owned businesses, where expectations can be particularly high due to the brand’s public profile.
For Envy Salon, the controversy comes at a time when beauty and lifestyle businesses operated by public figures increasingly rely on social media promotion and personal branding. Customer experiences shared publicly can therefore have an immediate impact on how audiences perceive such businesses.
The complaint has also drawn attention because Ejaz herself has frequently presented the salon as an important part of her professional life outside acting. The latest criticism puts that reputation under scrutiny as social media users debate whether the reported experience reflects an isolated complaint or a wider service issue.
At present, the controversy stems from the customer’s allegations and the subsequent public reaction. No response from Shagufta Ejaz or Envy Salon is included in the provided source material. Any response from the actress or salon could provide additional context to the claims.
The episode highlights the reputational risks celebrity businesses face when dissatisfied customers take their complaints directly to social media, where a single account can quickly trigger a much wider public conversation.
