A man allegedly shot and killed his wife and seriously injured his mother-in-law after entering his in-laws’ home in the Khawaja Gharib Nawaz area of Multan.
According to police, the deceased, Amina, had been staying at her parents’ home after becoming upset with her husband, Muhammad Rahim. She had also filed a case for khula (judicial divorce) in the family court.
Police said that allegedly due to the ongoing dispute, Muhammad Rahim entered his in-laws’ house and opened fire. As a result, his wife Amina was killed, while his mother-in-law, Abida Mai, sustained serious injuries.
The suspect fled the scene following the shooting, and police are conducting a search to arrest him.
The injured woman was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for treatment, while Amina’s body was also taken to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Multan CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar told the media that the suspect would be arrested soon.
