A TikToker known for criticising local politicians was ambushed and shot dead along with his nephew near Mandi Bahauddin while returning from a court hearing on Wednesday.

Ambush Ends Two Lives Near Seera Village
A local TikToker and his nephew were shot dead in a targeted ambush near Seera village in Mandi Bahauddin on Wednesday. Zafar Iqbal Gondal, 48, and Husnain Gondal, 30, died on the spot after unidentified armed men opened fire on their car.
The Attack on Qadirabad Road
The two men were returning home after attending a court hearing in Phalia. As their vehicle reached the area near Seera on Qadirabad Road, gunmen attacked. Multiple bullets hit both occupants. The car then veered off the road and fell into a ditch.
Police and forensic teams reached the scene quickly. The bodies were taken to Phalia THQ Hospital for autopsy before being handed to the families.
Why He Was Targeted
Zafar Iqbal Gondal was known in the area for his TikTok videos in which he openly criticised local politicians and opponents. His content often touched on political and personal issues creating both followers and enemies. Many in the locality believe his outspoken style may have led to the attack though police have not yet confirmed a motive.
Police and High-Level Response
Inspector General of Police Rao Abdul Kareem took notice of the double murder and ordered a detailed report from the Gujranwala regional police officer. He directed local police to arrest the suspects quickly. Mandi Bahauddin police have formed special teams and launched an investigation.
What Remains Unclear
Investigators are still working to identify the shooters and establish whether the killing was linked to Zafar’s online criticism or another dispute. The fact that the attack happened while the men were returning from court has raised further questions.
