CHUNIAN: Two sisters died and their parents remain in critical condition after the family allegedly consumed poisonous food at their home in Chunian, according to rescue officials.
Rescue sources said the family had eaten a home-cooked meal before all four members suddenly fell seriously ill. Emergency teams shifted them to a hospital in Lahore for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, 20-year-old Amara and 13-year-old Tehreem succumbed to their condition.
The girls’ father, Mehmood, and mother, Shahida Bibi, are still receiving treatment in critical condition.
The bodies of the two sisters have been transported to their ancestral village, Arjan Singh, for burial.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the suspected food poisoning, and further investigation is underway.
