Karachi: A major development has emerged in the investigation into the murder of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl in Karachi’s Quaidabad area, with forensic experts confirming that DNA belonging to at least three individuals was found on the child’s clothing.
According to the DNA report, investigators initially collected samples from 14 people before obtaining additional samples as the probe expanded. The forensic findings are expected to play a crucial role in identifying everyone connected to the case.
Police said initial evidence suggested the toddler was sexually assaulted before being killed. Investigators further alleged that the child’s aunt was involved in the murder along with another relative.
According to police, the aunt allegedly killed the child and kept the body inside a room. The suspects were reportedly unable to dispose of the body and later left it outside the house. Authorities believe additional individuals may also have been involved in the crime.
Police added that, based on the investigation so far, the woman’s husband has not been found to have any role in the case.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are awaiting further forensic and investigative findings before filing final charges.
