Multan: Renowned Pakistani Islamic scholar and preacher Maulana Muhammad Akram Saeedi has passed away after sustaining critical injuries in a tragic road accident in Multan, Punjab.
According to reports, news of the accident emerged on Friday, causing widespread concern among his followers and religious circles. Images shared after the incident showed Maulana Saeedi receiving medical treatment for his severe injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Maulana Muhammad Akram Saeedi was closely associated with Jamia Masjid and Darul Uloom Diyar-e-Habib in Gulshan-e-Hadid, Karachi, where he served for many years as an imam and khateeb (preacher). He was widely respected for his sermons, religious services, and devotional recitations (naat), earning admiration across Pakistan.
News of his passing spread rapidly on social media, prompting an outpouring of grief from people in Karachi, Multan, and other parts of the country. Videos of his speeches and naat recitations have also been widely shared as mourners paid tribute to his life and legacy.
Religious scholars and community leaders expressed deep sorrow over his death, praising his decades-long service to Islam and his role in guiding the community. Condolences continue to pour in for his family.
According to sources, a large number of people from different walks of life are expected to attend his funeral prayers.
