Pakistan’s security forces have shot down four drones that allegedly crossed into Balochistan from Afghanistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday, warning the Afghan Taliban against further cross-border provocations.
According to the military’s media wing, the four drones entered Pakistani airspace on June 30 from areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime. The ISPR alleged that the drones were launched with the backing of terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory.
The statement said Pakistan’s air defense network detected the drones immediately and neutralized all four through an effective response before they could pose a threat.
The ISPR praised the armed forces for demonstrating a high level of operational readiness and professionalism, saying the attempted incursion was successfully foiled using advanced air defense systems.
The military also accused the Afghan Taliban of supporting terrorist organizations and described the drone activity as an attempt to mislead the Afghan public. It urged the Taliban administration to abandon support for militant groups and adhere to the principles of peaceful coexistence.
Warning against any future escalation, the ISPR said that if cross-border provocations continue, Pakistan will respond decisively, adding that any aggression will be met with an immediate and forceful reply under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq.
The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully alert and are capable of defending every inch of the country’s territory against any external threat.
