The Punjab government has decided that government school teachers will no longer be assigned paper checking and examination invigilation duties from the next academic session as part of reforms aimed at improving the examination system.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that young university graduates will be engaged for paper checking and invigilation instead of government teachers. He said the decision is intended to make the examination process more effective and efficient.
According to the School Education Department, a new training program has already been launched as part of the examination reforms. Under the new policy, only trained personnel will be allowed to perform examination-related duties from the next academic session.
The minister further said that a new phase of examination reforms will begin soon following the appointment of new chairpersons of the examination boards. He stated that these reforms are aimed at making the examination system more transparent and better aligned with modern educational requirements.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said the Punjab government is committed to improving the quality of the examination process through a structured and trained workforce. The new policy is expected to be implemented from the upcoming academic session, with trained university graduates taking over paper checking and invigilation responsibilities in accordance with the new examination framework.
