The Crime Control Department (CCD) has issued an official response following the tragic death of a young girl in Chakwal, expressing deep sorrow over the incident and extending condolences to the bereaved family.
According to the CCD spokesperson, the department is committed to ensuring transparency in the investigation and upholding the rule of law. The officer involved in the firing has been suspended from service and taken into custody.
Authorities have also seized the officer’s rifle and collected the spent bullet casings as part of the evidence. The spokesperson stated that the officer had clearly violated departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is currently conducting a transparent inquiry to determine the facts surrounding the incident. The CCD added that the victim’s family is being regularly informed about developments in the case.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to bringing the case to a logical and lawful conclusion as quickly as possible.
