A heartbreaking incident occurred in the mountainous district of Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where six children lost their lives after the roof of a house suddenly collapsed.
According to local authorities, the tragedy took place in Alpuri Tehsil late at night when the roof of a mud-built house caved in, trapping children beneath the rubble. One child was also injured and is receiving medical treatment.
Police said local residents carried out rescue efforts on their own and managed to recover the bodies and rescue the injured child from the debris.
The deceased children were identified as Nazira, Samira, Rizwan, Nayab, Haya Noor, and Umaira Bibi, aged between 5 and 14 years. Five of the victims were girls, while one was a boy.
Officials further revealed that the children’s father, Jahan Bashar, had passed away some time ago. The family was living in a mud house, which is believed to have contributed to the fatal collapse.
Authorities are investigating the incident, while the tragedy has left the local community in deep mourning.
