Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has returned home after undergoing a major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital, according to Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif underwent a major surgical procedure at Sharif Medical City Hospital and was later discharged after her condition improved.
In a statement shared on X, Aurangzeb said the Punjab chief minister was now recovering at home and thanked supporters for their prayers and well-wishes.
Despite being hospitalized during Eid holidays, Maryam Nawaz personally monitored key administrative matters across Punjab, including security arrangements, sanitation operations, and other public service issues, Aurangzeb added.
“She directly supervised provincial affairs from the hospital on Eid,” the senior minister said, praising the chief minister’s commitment to governance and public administration.
Earlier reports had suggested that Maryam Nawaz visited Sharif Medical City for medical evaluation and treatment.
Maryam Nawaz, who became Punjab’s first woman chief minister in 2024, has remained actively involved in provincial governance, particularly in health, sanitation, and infrastructure initiatives.
No further official details regarding the nature of the surgery were immediately disclosed.
