A devastating road accident on the Swat Expressway near Ismailia area has claimed at least 16 lives and left 8 others injured after a high-roof van crashed into a parked bus from behind.
According to officials, the tragic incident occurred due to alleged negligence by the van driver, who failed to notice the stationary bus parked on the roadside and collided with it at high speed.
The bus was travelling from Karachi to Buner, while the van was en route from Rawalpindi to Dir. Rescue teams and motorway police quickly reached the scene, shifting the deceased and injured to Mardan Medical Complex.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
