A disturbing honey-trap case has surfaced in Lahore where a 70-year-old man was allegedly blackmailed by a family of three, who reportedly extorted Rs700,000 from him after secretly recording an explicit video.
According to the victim, the ordeal began about four months ago when he met a man identified as Imran, a rickshaw driver, who gradually befriended him and began visiting him frequently.
The elderly man told police that Imran would often ask for small amounts of money, usually Rs500 or Rs1,000, and then leave.
However, the situation took a darker turn recently when Imran allegedly invited the elderly man to his home under the pretext of showing him a new refrigerator.
Video allegedly recorded at gunpoint
The victim claimed that once he arrived at the house, Imran and his family forced him at gunpoint to remove his clothes and lie on a bed.
Police say Imran’s divorced 18-year-old daughter, Sehar, was then brought into the room, and the suspects allegedly recorded an explicit video of the two.
According to the victim, the video was later used to blackmail him repeatedly, with threats that the footage would be shared publicly if he refused to pay money.
Rs700,000 allegedly extorted
The elderly man told investigators that Imran, his wife Nasira Bibi, and daughter Sehar allegedly extorted about Rs700,000 from him over time.
The suspects reportedly continued to demand more money and recently pressured him to buy them a motorcycle rickshaw and even a car.
The victim said the blackmail had devastated him emotionally.
“They left me unable to show my face to anyone,” he said, adding that the humiliation and fear pushed him to attempt suicide.
Police warn of rising honey-trap incidents
Police officials at Misri Shah Police Station confirmed that a complaint had been received and warned that such honey-trap scams are becoming increasingly common, where victims are lured, secretly filmed, and later blackmailed for money.
The police inspector advised that anyone who becomes a victim of such traps should immediately report the matter rather than paying the suspects.
Police have now registered an FIR against the three accused — Imran, his wife Nasira Bibi, and daughter Sehar — and have taken them into custody as further investigation continues.
