PSL 11 Auction Concludes with Blockbuster Signings
The first-ever Pakistan Super League (PSL) player auction concluded in Lahore on Wednesday, with all eight franchises finalising their squads for the historic 11th edition. Held at the Expo Centre, the event marked a major shift from the traditional draft system to an auction model, resulting in intense bidding wars and several marquee signings.
Record Bids and Heavy Spending
Islamabad United made a strong statement by securing Faheem Ashraf for PKR 8.5 crore and Mohammad Wasim Jnr. for PKR 4.1 crore, while also adding Imad Wasim for PKR 2.2 crore.
Rawalpindi emerged among the biggest spenders, landing Naseem Shah for PKR 8.65 crore and Daryl Mitchell for PKR 8.05 crore.
Karachi Kings grabbed headlines after winning a bidding war for David Warner at PKR 7.9 crore and signing Adam Zampa for PKR 4.5 crore.
Strengthening the Core
Lahore Qalandars reinforced their lineup with Shaheen Afridi for 7 crore, Fakhar Zaman for PKR 7.95 crore and Haris Rauf for PKR 7.6 crore.
Peshawar Zalmi boosted their squad with Kusal Mendis for PKR 4.2 crore and James Vince for PKR 3 crore, adding further depth to their batting firepower.
New Teams Eye Strong Start
Debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen were active throughout the auction, assembling a competitive and balanced unit. The franchise made a significant move by signing rising star Saim Ayub, strengthening their top order with explosive batting talent.
Hyderabad also secured Kusal Perera for PKR 3.1 crore, Riley Meredith for PKR 4.2 crore, Irfan Khan Niazi for PKR 2.9 crore and Hassan Khan for PKR 1.85 crore. Additionally, they added Mohammad Ali for PKR 2.15 crore and several emerging local players to bolster squad depth.
Sialkot Stallionz also impressed in their debut auction, acquiring Sahibzada Farhan for 5.7 crore, Josh Philippe for PKR 2.3 crore, Peter Siddle for PKR 2.5 crore along with Muhammad Nawaz and Saad Masood as part of their core setup.
With squads now locked in, PSL 11 promises to deliver one of the most competitive and thrilling seasons in the tournament’s history.
