TikTok reveals Pakistan’s top searches in 2025, highlighting how users turned to the platform for travel, cricket, entertainment, food trends, AI prompts, and everyday discovery.

A few days ago, an unusual media invite led journalists away from Lahore’s traditional coverage hubs to Nishat Emporium, where TikTok chose to unveil what Pakistan searched for most in 2025. The venue may have felt off the beaten track, but the data revealed inside offered a sharp, fascinating snapshot of the country’s collective curiosity.
At the event, the TikTok South Asia team presented Pakistan’s top searches of the year, highlighting how the platform has evolved from entertainment to a real-time discovery and decision-making tool. Despite a late start — typical of many media events — the energetic anchor kept the audience engaged as category after category revealed expected favorites alongside a few surprises.
While a panel discussion was part of the agenda, several journalists felt the session would have been more effective as a dedicated Q&A, given the strong media presence and the appetite for direct answers. Still, Emad, Communications Head of TikTok South Asia, handled the discussion confidently, addressing key questions around AI usage on the platform, monetisation, and when Pakistani TikTok creators can expect to start earning. However, many of these issues — particularly monetisation timelines and payment mechanisms — remain complex and would benefit from a separate, detailed press release from TikTok to provide greater clarity.
From cricket rivalries and television dramas to food trends, travel dreams and AI prompts, TikTok’s 2025 search data reflected how Pakistanis increasingly turn to short-form video not just to watch, but to search, compare and decide.
“TikTok Search has become an essential part of daily life in Pakistan,” said Umais Naveed, Content Operations Lead for South Asia. He noted that users are actively seeking recommendations, reviews and context — whether following a cricket moment, planning a trip, learning something new, or checking product reviews before making a purchase.
