According to early forecasts, D66 is expected to secure 27 seats in the 150-member parliament, while Wilders’ Freedom Party will drop to 25 seats, losing 12 from the previous election. The Dutch election results 2025 indicate strong public support for centrist and moderate leadership.
Rob Jetten’s party now has the chance to form a coalition and possibly make him the next prime minister of the Netherlands. Centrist parties such as the Christian Democrats and the People’s Party are expected to join hands with D66, forming either a center-left or center-right alliance.
Wilders’ earlier decision to withdraw from the coalition government in June weakened his position and led to this snap election. His failure to deliver on migration reforms and other key promises has frustrated voters.
Rob Jetten focused his campaign on solving the country’s housing crisis and balancing migration needs, gaining strong support from young and urban voters. Political experts believe the results will bring stability after years of political uncertainty.
Final results are expected on November 7, and coalition talks may take several months. However, analysts say the Dutch election results 2025 clearly mark a move away from far-right politics and toward a more cooperative government in the Netherlands.
