Humaira Asghar’s parents have broken their silence after the actress was found dead in her Karachi apartment last week. In their first media interview, her father and mother strongly denied reports that they refused to claim her body.
Her father shared that he was at his clinic when relatives and later the Sindh Police informed him about his daughter’s death. He said he didn’t refuse to take the body, but was waiting for legal procedures like the post-mortem to be completed. “If I had refused, why would I later send my son to collect her body?” he asked.
The father also rejected claims that Humaira was facing financial problems. He said she earned well and used to spend on herself and poor children in orphanages. “We found expensive clothes in her room that she never even wore. If she had no money, how could she buy those?” he questioned.
He suspected that something wrong might have happened to his daughter, as her body was found lying face-down in a store room with some suspicious signs at the apartment. He praised Sindh Police for handling the investigation seriously, even though Humaira was not personally connected to them.
Humaira’s mother also denied having any conflict with her daughter. She said the last time they spoke was in late August 2024. After that, her daughter’s number stopped working. “I thought she might have gone abroad,” she said. The mother also mentioned that Humaira had once said someone was bothering her, and her phone SIMs were being blocked.
Both parents emphasized that they loved their daughter dearly and never refused her body, calling all such media claims baseless.
