Missing Indian Bride Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Husband on Honeymoon
Bride, betrayal, and a blood trail: Inside India’s chilling honeymoon murder mystery
New Delhi, India – June 8, 2025:
In a shocking twist to what began as a dream wedding, a missing Indian bride has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband during their honeymoon, turning a tale of romance into a dark saga of betrayal and bloodshed.
The couple, whose identities are being withheld pending formal charges, had tied the knot just days before embarking on their honeymoon to a popular hill station. According to police sources, the husband was reported missing shortly after the trip began. His body was later recovered in a remote area, bearing signs of a violent struggle.
Police now allege that Sonam Raghuvanshi, 25, hired killers to murder her 30-year-old husband Raja during their trip to the tiny north-eastern state of Meghalaya. Four men have also been arrested.
Sonam’s father Devi Singh has defended his daughter saying “she is innocent and she cannot do this”.
The bride, who also went missing after filing an initial missing persons report, was located and arrested by police after a nationwide search. Investigators say inconsistencies in her statements and forensic evidence pointed to her involvement.

Sources close to the investigation say the woman may have conspired with an alleged accomplice, who is currently being sought. Digital footprints, including call records and surveillance footage, have helped unravel the case.
The shocking case has gripped national attention, sparking intense debate over rising domestic crimes and the vulnerability of partners in newly formed relationships.
As the investigation continues, the bride remains in police custody, facing charges of murder and criminal conspiracy. Authorities promise swift justice for what they describe as a “brutal and calculated act” committed under the guise of marriage.
