“I am proud to announce that Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel will serve as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday evening.
Who is Kash Patel?
Kash Patel, born in 1980 in New York to Gujarati immigrant parents, is an American attorney and former government official. He graduated from the University of Richmond with a law degree and studied international law at University College London.
During Donald Trump’s presidency, Patel has held various high-profile roles, including Chief of Staff to Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller. His career spans work in counter-terrorism at the Department of Justice, leadership roles in national security, and authorship of the controversial Nunes Memo, which criticized the FBI’s surveillance practices during the Trump-Russia investigation
