The Interior Minister of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi met with Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Nasser bin Abdul Aziz in Islamabad. Discussions focused on strengthening Pak Saudi relations, exchanging paramilitary forces, joint police training, and other mutual interests.
A important outcome of the meeting was Naqvi’s proposal to declare Islamabad and Riyadh as “twin cities,” a suggestion that received positive feedback from the Saudi delegation.
Crackdown against beggars mafia
Both brother countries leaders discussed a crackdown against mafias sending beggars from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia. Naqvi informed his counterpart that 4,300 names have been added to Pakistan’s Exit Control List (ECL) to prevent their travel.Minister Naqvi has cleared that “zero tolerance” policy against beggars and assured full cooperation with Saudi authorities.
The two brothers countries agreed to expedite the implementation of a prisoner exchange agreement. Legal proceedings for the repatriation of 419 Pakistani prisoners from Saudi Arabia will soon be completed.
Federal Interior Minister further highlighted that Saudi citizens do not require a visa to visit Pakistan. He also praised Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 initiative.
On the other side, the Saudi Deputy Interior Minister emphasized the importance of Saudi-Pakistani relations and expressed Saudi Arabia’s willingness to enhance collaboration in paramilitary force exchanges and police training programs.
