Karachi: After a significant rise in gold prices across the country, an unexpected drop has been recorded.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Association, the price of gold has decreased by Rs. 5,400 nationwide, surprising many who were accustomed to seeing constant increases in recent weeks.
As per the association’s update, the price of one tola (11.66 grams) of gold has fallen by Rs. 5,400, bringing it down to Rs. 276,800. In addition, the price of 10 grams of gold has decreased by Rs. 4,630, now standing at Rs. 237,311.
This sharp drop comes after a period of skyrocketing gold prices in the country, which had caused significant financial strain for consumers and investors alike. However, this sudden correction has provided some relief to those looking to purchase or invest in gold.
On the international front, gold prices have also seen a decline. The price of gold in the global market has dropped by $65, bringing it down to $2,762 per ounce. This decrease in the international price has also impacted domestic prices, contributing to the overall decline observed in Pakistan.
