50-50 famed great actor, Majid Jahangir, who rose to fame for his commendable work in comedy series Fifty-Fifty, was suffering from a respiratory illness which worsened recently.
He was hospitalized in critical condition at a hospital in Lahore in November, 2020.
The actor, who lost partial function of his body to paralysis almost five years ago, was moved o the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Lahore.
Jahangir was honoured with the Pride of Performance Award — the highest accolade in Pakistan — for his memorable performance in Fifty Fifty. He worked for Pakistan Television Network (PTV) for 22 years and starred in four films.
His son, Fahad Majid, said that the best comedian of his time will be laid to rest in Karachi.
The comedian suffered injuries after he fell from his bed a month ago. His spine was fractured in the mishap.
Few days back the legendary actor was furious on scamming him by ARY’s Waseem Badami and Iqrar-Ul-Hassan.
Majid revealed that once he was invited to a private television’s live show that was hosted by Waseem Badami and Iqrar Ul Hassan. People raised around 1 million rupees for him in that live show and both of the hosts announced that money for him. He also asked them that he needs a car so that it would be easier for him to go to the hospital.
“Upon that Waseem Badami and Iqrar Ul Hassan sat down close to my feet as if he was a biggest personality and said, “This Toyota Corolla is yours,” which was in the studio,” he continued.
“I called them repeatedly once the show ended and kept begging for the money and car but they didn’t answer my calls. I requested them to give me at least money for my treatment but they didn’t even bother to give me money. I will hold them accountable hereafter.”
Waseem Badami responds to Late Majid Jehangir’s Allegations:
Recently, Waseem Badami has posted a video in response to Majid Jahangir from Makkah Mukarama. He said, “firstly, Majid Jahangir said you got Toyota Corolla, I didn’t even say a word car in the show.
Iqrar Ul Hassan said he will try for a car, I would say that Corolla Car never came on the set of Shaan E Ramadan, Iqrar Ul Hassan then said that with the help of Ary Digital’s owners we tried to give him Mehran to him to which he agreed.
Also, we didn’t say that 12 Lacs were pledged, we barely got pledges of 4 to 6, should we close such segments because everyone knows that people pledge but don’t ever give for example a person announced 100 rupees but gave 70 rupees, it doesn’t mean we have taken the remaining 30 rupees.
I am in Makkah, I will pray for his health. I have no issues from Majid Jahangir but I would urge you to research before you accuse someone.
