Following days of irritation, individuals in Pakistan using the internet can now feel relieved as social media platforms are slowly becoming accessible in different areas.
The disturbances led to great pain for people, companies, and schools, leading to substantial economic damages for the country.
The internet disruption had impaired users’ capacity to download media, send and receive files, and reach vital online services. Nevertheless, internet services started being restored on Friday, enabling users to continue their online activities.
The decision follows a caution from the ISPs Association that extended internet outages in Pakistan could deteriorate the country’s economy, leading international companies to relocate and endangering the livelihoods of Pakistani freelancers.
In the meantime, the Lahore High Court listened to a petition regarding internet disruptions, sending notices to relevant parties and requesting a response. Another request submitted to the Islamabad High Court asked the court to guarantee continuous internet availability, emphasizing that it is a basic human right according to the constitution.
The petition asked for the suspension of the firewall installation process until a decision is made and for all installation details to be provided to the court.
As the nation gradually gets back to normal, individuals are wishing for a reliable and continuous internet connection to take up their online tasks again.
