Famous Pakistani screenwriter, director, Urdu poet, lyricist Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is once again in the headlines, this time because of his lawyer who is working on his complicated honey trap case, was robbed on gun point.
Qamar who is Known for his unique and compelling scripts is going through a rough phase of his life after his real-life story took unexpected and alarming twists, leaving fans and followers in shock.
On July 15, the dramatist was allegedly abducted and tortured by a gang. Following his release, he filed a case on July 21. The case has since become increasingly complex, with accusations and counter-accusations making it difficult to discern the truth.
The group released an explicit video of Qamar after Amna Urooj accused him of acting inappropriately, sparking the start of the honey trap controversy. These incidents have raised doubts; some people are doubting his innocence, while others are denouncing the gang’s behavior.
A further twist in this convoluted case is that the screenwriter’s attorney, who is working hard on it, was robbed. Media sources state that the lawyer’s cell phone and cash were taken at gunpoint by unidentified gunmen on motorbikes.
He begged the burglars to leave his phone, but they threatened to kill him instead. Since then, he has lodged a complaint with Lahore’s Baghbanpura police station.
On the other hand, the opposition party has accused Khalilur Rehman Qamar and is calling him a blackmailer.
The dramatist described his kidnapping in the FIR, saying that on July 15, at approximately midnight, he got a call from a lady who identified herself as an English fan.
She provided him a meeting place and said she would want to work with him on a drama. When Qamar arrived to the scene at around 4 in the morning, he had no idea that there might be danger.
When he got there, the woman was alone herself in the house. Not long after, seven guys broke in, abused Qamar, and stole his watch, money, and cell phone. Additionally, they used his ATM card to withdraw 287,000 rupees, and they wanted a ransom of one crore rupees.
