Mumbai (MediaBites)—Globally renowned industrialist Ratan Tata, who hails from India, has passed away at the age of 86. A licensed pilot who occasionally flew the company plane, Ratan Tata never married and was known for his quiet demeanor, relatively modest lifestyle, and philanthropic work.
According to Indian media, on Monday morning, reports surfaced that Ratan Tata’s health had significantly deteriorated, and it was mentioned that he was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. However, his X (formerly Twitter) account stated that he was in good health and had gone to the hospital only for a medical check-up.
Ratan Tata was a prominent figure in India’s industrial sector. From 1991 to 2012, he served as the Chairman of Tata Group, associated with the automobile and steel industries.

Later, he distinguished himself as Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Tata Industries, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, and Tata Chemicals. Under his leadership, Tata Motors introduced the world’s most affordable car.
Following his death, global leaders and Indian officials have expressed their condolences. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a statement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), said that Ratan Tata was an astute business personality and an extraordinary individual
He provided strong leadership to one of the country’s oldest and most well-known business entities.
