Thanks to his impressive scores of 171 not out and 51 in the first Test against Bangladesh, Mohammad Rizwan has entered the top 10 of the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings for the first time.
Rizwan and Australia’s Usman Khawaja share the tenth position in the rankings.
In the same match, Babar Azam dropped to ninth place, having scored 0 and 22. Saud Shakeel of Pakistan advanced to 13th place after scoring a century in the first innings.
Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh has reached a career-high tying 17th place in the rankings following his important score of 191 in the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, moving up seven spots.
In global news, Harry Brook from England has moved up to fourth position in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings as a result of his impressive displays, including scores of 56 and 32 in the initial game of the ICC World Test Championship series in Manchester against Sri Lanka.
This rise in position brings him close to his personal record of finishing in third place, which he reached with a century against the West Indies at Trent Bridge last month.
Some other significant changes in the Test batting rankings are Dinesh Chandimal from Sri Lanka, who moved up four spots to 23rd, Kamindu Mendis, who rose eight places to 36th, Liton Das from Bangladesh, who increased two positions to 27th, and England’s Jamie Smith, who jumped 22 spots to 42nd.
England’s Chris Woakes moved up to 16th place in the bowling rankings by taking three wickets in both innings against Sri Lanka.
Asitha Fernando of Sri Lanka climbed 10 spots to 17th in the rankings after taking six wickets in the same game. Pakistan’s Naseem Shah, as well as England’s Gus Atkinson and Matthew Potts, saw significant improvements in the bowling rankings.
Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies has broken into the top 10 of the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings due to his impressive displays against South Africa, with Reeza Hendricks of South Africa rising to 13th place.
Akeal Hosein of the West Indies moved up to second place in the bowling rankings by taking four wickets in three matches, while Gudakesh Motie also rose in the rankings. Romario Shepherd advanced to the 31st place.
