Match between Bangladesh and Black Caps cancelled after brutal shooting at mosque in Christchurch

The third Test between the Black Caps and Bangladesh has been cancelled following multiple fatalities after shootings at two mosques in Christchurch this afternoon.

Parts of central Christchurch are in lockdown. Eyewitnesses said as many as 15 people may been hit at the mosque, the Masjid Al Noor mosque on Deans Ave. The other mosque where an attack took place was one at Linwood.

Addressing media this evening, New Zealand Cricket confirmed that the Test which was scheduled to begin tomorrow at Hagley Park, has been cancelled.

Both Bangladesh and the Black Caps are in lockdown as a result of this afternoon’s tragedy.
